Hypnotherapy For Sleepless Nights: I love bedtime stories.
Let’s talk about hypnotherapy for sleepless nights. When I was a child I fell in love with Gulliver’s Travels.
The adventure, the danger, the mystery of the unknown. I found it all so…captivating. Nothing would put me to sleep like a good story.
There’s one scene I remember vividly.
The hero, Gulliver, travels to the Land of Giant and in one scene has to fend off giant wasps with a giant needle. The image of sheer terror on Gulliver’s face as he fought off the wasps was SO realistic I could feel the fear penetrate my bones.
And that terror stuck with me.
Until just recently, I have been unable to be in the same room as a wasp.
You could say I developed a phobia.
I know logically that it probably won’t sting me, and EVEN if it did it wouldn’t kill me.
But still…
That picture has stuck with me for decades and it wasn’t until I became a hypnotherapist that I understood that I could do something about it.
I doubt I’ll ever like wasps exactly, after all they are nasty, vicious and evil. But, I can tolerate them now.
Maybe you don’t have a specific fear that paralyzes you or causes panic attacks, but maybe you know the feeling of having underlying nagging anxieties, that just never seem to go away. Maybe you know the feeling of tossing and turning at night, unable to get to sleep.
Feeling restless or anxious, you keep thinking about the future and all the things you need to get done or difficult conversations you need to have. Or maybe you keep having flashbacks to the past and all the mistakes you’ve made and things you regret saying.
All these thoughts keep swirling in your head and messing up your sleep patterns.
No matter how much you try to take deep breaths, meditate, or calm your nerves using relaxation techniques, you still feel like an insomniac. What if there was a hypnotherapy for sleepless nights?
Remember back when you were a kid
When your parents would read you a bedtime story and you felt so utterly at peace you’d drift easily off to sleep?
You felt comfortable, you felt safe, and your parents soothing words would put your mind at ease, and you’d drift peacefully off to sleep.
Now this may shock you, but then you already know what it feels like to be in a hypnotic state.
Pretty cool right?
I have now had the privilege of helping numerous clients with their fears, anxieties and phobias using hypnotherapy, and I have realised they’re one of the easiest things to overcome.
Although they can overwhelm us in the moment that a phobia is triggered, no one is attached to their fears.
No one has a secret need fulfilled by them and no one WANTS their fears to come back. That makes it easy to be done with an irrational fear when we are given the opportunity.
Hypnotherapy For Sleepless Nights
I’ve treated fears from fear of earthquakes, to needles, to open water, to spiders, to heights, to flying. I’ve also helped people with trouble sleeping, insomnia and dealing with depression and repressed anger. The list is virtually endless.
If you have found that certain things or hobbies in your life are just impossible because of a troublesome irrational fear or mental blockage, then why not get in touch.
Fears Of Corona Virus Keeping You Up At Night?
You’re not alone. COVID-19 is creating stress and anxiety around the world, and one of the major upsets has been around sleep. When people feel nervous and uncertain their sleep patterns get shattered.
Some people are glued to their phone, reading the latest news, some people pace, some people just feel straight nervous. Here is an article by the NZ Herald, explaining how to cope with difficult times.
Chris from Ntrance here,
I get clients frequently asking me “but does hypnotherapy work for fears and anxieties?”. It’s a secret pleasure of mine helping clients overcome their phobias and irrational fears, so I wrote this little post. (Also popular – “Does hypnosis work for weight loss?” – read a REAL virtual gastric band success story).
There’s so many things in life that we don’t need to be afraid of, and if you feel you want to overcome your fears that are holding you back, (and there’s no shame in admitting it!), I’m here for you.
Located locally right here in Marlborough NZ, even saving you the long trip to Christchurch or Wellington!
